MESSAGE FROM VC 2024/2025
At the onset the new academic year, that is 2024-2025, I am delighted to welcome all staff and students, both new and continuing students to St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT). For new students, we are delighted that you have chosen our university for your higher education.
SAUT is a wonderfully and supportive university with unique teaching and learning environment, highly experienced and committed staff to facilitate students’ learning and nurture them full until their dreams are realized.
SAUT will always remain committed to your positive aspirations and efforts to gain and command higher education knowledge. Therefore, I urge all students to take advantage of the opportunities available at this university in order to realise your educational goals.
In this academic year 2024/2025, we have unique opportunities to strengthen our achievements, initiate new projects, and to improve on some key academic areas, including effective teaching and learning facilities. The major concern of educators today is to impart relevant knowledge in order to prepare students to function in a competitive and rapidly changing global world of the 21st century. We are therefore eager to empower our students to have competencies which are needed to excel in the global labour market.
SAUT strives to create knowledge and skills as well as develop new mind set in students by expanding access to higher education through its various constituent colleges and new programmes. This will give opportunities to students to venture in different fields of specialisations. Intercultural connection are also established through students exchange programmes with other universities within and outside Tanzania.
Dear students, higher education is geared to ethical values and services to human kind. SAUT is working hard to contribute to higher education as our society is faced with uncontrolled economic and political influences that have a severe effect on academic freedom. We diligently aspire in to have graduates who can contribute significantly to the society. Our education should be for the development of this nation and beyond. Our academic programmes are designed to help students address issues related to equality to all, fighting corruption, managing resources and new technology.
